This guide will walk you through the process of installing shellA on your computer. shellA is available for Windows, macOS operating systems.
System Requirements
Before installing shellA, make sure your system meets these minimum requirements:
Windows
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
- 4GB RAM (8GB recommended)
- 500MB disk space
- Intel Core i3 / AMD Ryzen 3 or better
- Internet connection
macOS
- macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
- 4GB RAM (8GB recommended)
- 500MB disk space
- Intel or Apple Silicon processor
- Internet connection
Download
Download the latest version of shellA for your operating system:
Installation Steps
Follow these steps to install shellA on your system:
Double-click the downloaded
shellA-installer.exe
file.If prompted by User Account Control, click "Yes" to allow the installer to run.
Follow the installation wizard:
- Accept the license agreement
- Choose the installation location (default is recommended)
- Select start menu folder
- Choose additional tasks (create desktop shortcut, etc.)
- Click "Install" to begin the installation
Once the installation is complete, click "Finish" to exit the installer.
Launch shellA from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
Verification
After installation, verify that shellA is working correctly:
Launch shellA from your applications menu, Start menu, or Applications folder.
When prompted, sign in with your ByteSpell account or create a new one.
Add a test directory and try a simple command to test the installation:
"Show me all files in this folder"
If shellA displays your files, the installation was successful!
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues during installation, try these troubleshooting steps:
Application Won't Start
- macOS: Check that you're allowing apps from identified developers in Security & Privacy settings
Installation Fails
- Make sure you have administrator/sudo privileges
- Check that you have enough disk space
- Temporarily disable antivirus software during installation
- Try downloading the installer again
Performance Issues
- Verify that your system meets the minimum requirements
- Close other resource-intensive applications
- Check for system updates
